For winter 2023, we had asked some of the biggest Octopus enthusiasts to model for a special lookbook. For spring 2024, we opened the doors of our factory in Albizzate (VA) to another group of fans, organizing an exclusive tour just for them. We showed ‘em the machines used for screen printing, laser cutting, sewing and tailoring; the offices where the products are designed; and, above all, the archive that contains garments from all collections, along with rarities and samples that never made it to production, from 2006 to the present. Octopus pieces such as the collaborations with Madman and Gemello, original hoodies produced by Vanguard, every celebratory editions produced for 4:20 and Halloween, historic special drops like Rick & Morty, Spongebob, and Staple NYC.
"The archive? It's like a giant closet full of wonderful things. I personally am obsessed with the 4:20 limited editions and Madman's first collabo."
-Yehya Mohamad
"It's a different brand than the others, it's more iconic than the others. It's like a highlighter in a sea of gray pencils. Everywhere you turn you see it, somewhere, in some form."
-Olmo Merli
"I especially like faulty samples, because the flaws make them completely different from all the rest. I also love gadgets, like the Spongebob skate deck - I could never part with that one."
-Danilo Picoco
“When we were in the archive, at one point I found myself alone. After a while they came looking for me, and I was still there looking at the sweatshirts... I had almost all of them, except for some limited editions exclusively made for some singer, like just two or three ever made. That's the only way they can beat me.”
-Paolo Fiorani
Among the garments worn by fans for the SS24 lookbook are the classic Outline, Side, and Original Pack; printed denim; workwear-inspired pants; absolute novelties as the Belts Pack and the jacquard offerings from the Ray Pack and Heart Pack; and also the manga collaborations between Europe and Japan, featuring Matteo de Longis and Evangelion.
