MARKET X VNGRD OCTOPUS
A collaboration between two icons. From New York City to Milan
Everyone knows the smileys of Market. Everyone knows the tentacles of Octopus. Two sides of the Atlantic, two brands born from the underground of their cities. Different yet similar, both committed to building icons - but without taking themselves too seriously.
From the friendship between the founders of Market and those of Octopus blossoms a limited edition collaborative drop consisting of just two garments. The classic OG Octopus VNGRD hoodies and T-shirts, designed in 2006, are revisited with Market's ironic and playful style, thanks to the application of UV-sensitive photochromic ink. The white lower panel turns purple as soon as it is exposed to the sun, only to return white once it is in the shade again. After a total of approximately 8 hours of exposure to UV Light, the inks will no longer change color. At this point the final print color may be the “Indoor” or “Outdoor” colorway, or somewhere in between. The final color for each product will be unique to the environmental conditions and UV light levels they are exposed to.
